Achilles tendinitis is inflammation of the achilles tendon just above its anchor point in the heel bone (calcaneus).  The calf musculature is primarily made up of the gastrocnemius and soleus muscles and are the upward extension of the achilles tendon.  Symptoms include achilles pain, especially during the first few steps in the morning after getting out of bed, or after being in a seated position or after a period of rest.  

Kinesiology tape is frequently used to treat overuse injuries.  It reduces pain on the achilles tendon by preventing excessive straining and pulling on the tendon, while increasing the effort and power it can generate.  It also decreases swelling and inflammation of the tendon.  My kinesiology taping techniques are easily applied with my educational videos and photos.
